Michaela has been singing since before she could walk and performing on stage since she was 8 years old. Roles as a child include Anna in Hans Christian Andersen, Mozart in Of Mice and Mozart, Tootie in Meet Me in St Louis, Kim in Showboat, and the title role in Annie.
Michaela later gained a Bachelor of Music (Honours) from the Royal College of Music, London. In the UK, she performed the Gilbert and Sullivan roles of Julia, Mabel, Josephine and Patience. Oratorio works include Handel’s Messiah, Poulenc’s Gloria, and Mozart’s Requiem. She was also a member of 5-voice a cappella group Chiswick Baroque for 3 years. In Sydney, Michaela sang the role of Calisto in Offenbach’s Daphnis and Chloe with Pacific Opera, and Dolores in Florodora with Slick Operettas.
She joined The 7 Sopranos in 2011, and features on their debut, self-titled album on the ABC Classics label. In 2012, Michaela sang the role of Rose Pickles in the creative development of George Palmer’s Cloudstreet: the opera, Lucille in Rossini’s The Silken Ladder with Sydney Independent Opera, and Orlenda in Charody Productions’ circus opera The Carnival. In 2014, she played Envy in Fat Lady Productions' burlesque-opera fusion, Pleasure Opera, at the Adelaide Fringe Festival.
Featured television appearances include Home and Away, All Saints, and Underbelly: The Golden Mile. Michaela has also been broadcast live on ABC Classic FM and Fine Music 2MBS FM.
